Rev Dr Ted Woods & Jenny Woods
Rev Dr Ted Woods
After finishing theological training in Sydney and the UK, Ted married Jenny and went to Zambia as a Bible teacher and preacher.
Ted lectured in Old Testament at The Bible College of Victoria (now MST) from 1988 to 2010, followed by 13 years as Pastor at Upwey Baptist Church in Melbourne.
In 2011 Ted rewrote the Tyndale Commentary on Deuteronomy, and continues to enjoy reading, writing, short breaks with Jenny, and preparing sermons.
Jenny Woods
Jenny's family history is rich in mission, ministry and nursing, shaping her call to serve others from an early age.
She worked as a nurse in Zambia and Australia, and has always been an active member in church community, most recently at Upwey Baptist Church where Jenny organised events and services. She enjoys time with family and friends, reading and gardening.
John Waterson
John studied theology at Durham University and Whitley College in Melbourne.
He worked for St Laurence Anglican Church in Reading and is now a wine maker at Chateau Yering in the Yarra Valley where he lives with his wife Alana and their two teenagers. John has always been actively involved in local church life and enjoys being outdoors with family and friends and playing soccer in a local league for fun.
Pete McClean
Self-taught at 16, Pete has now been playing piano for church for an incredible 72 years!
After his wife of 45 beautiful years, Lorraine, died in 2005, he started to play piano at 10 to 12 nursing homes each month until Covid lockdown in April 2020. Since then, he has sent out 4 hymns every week for the past 4 years on YouTube at youtube.com/@skeat7557.
Emma Woods
Emma studied visual arts and hospitality before working as a creative director at Eastern Hills Community Church for 18 years.
Emma now works in education support and enjoys hanging out with her adult and teenage daughters, gardening, drawing and bush walking.
Emma began this project as a way of meeting the needs of Christian individuals close to us who had not been able to attend their local church because of illness, sensory issues and trauma and who needed something short and simple to take part in from home.
